GAMING fans will flock to Melbourne and Olympic Parks this weekend for the first ever Melbourne Esports Open.
Featuring some of the biggest names in Australian esports, attendees can witness the Grand Finals of both our local Overwatch Contenders league as well as see which team qualifies to represent us at the League of Legends World Championships via a win in the Grand Finals of the Oceanic Pro League.

There will also be top-level Counter-Strike: Global Offensive played via the BenQ ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND ANZ qualifiers, with the winner to fly to Shanghai and compete for a $US100,000 prize pool.

But you don’t have to be a top-level esports player to participate at the event, with tournaments in a number of titles including Fortnite, Clash Royale, Rocket League and many top fighting games to be held.

Here’s your ultimate guide to everything going on at the Melbourne Esports Open.

WHEN AND WHERE IS IT?

The Melbourne Esports Open is being held at the Melbourne and Olympic Parks precinct, including Rod Laver Arena and Margaret Court Arena, on September 1 and 2.

Doors open at 9am on both days for the free play zones and later on for the major arena shows.

WHERE ARE THE EVENTS BEING HELD?

The Overwatch Contenders Australia finals and League of Legends OPL finals are both being held inside Rod Laver Arena, with other events including the BenQ ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND ANZ qualifiers held across the ESL Tournament Zone in Margaret Court Arena.

Below is a map of the precinct.
